Target Audience: Physicians, Physician Assistants, Chiropractors, Nurse Practioners, Physical & Occupational Therapists, Physical and Occupational Therapy Assistants.

Purpose: This full-day didactic conference will focus on the evaluation and treatment of general orthopedic pain, conditions, and injuries for the health care professional audience. At the conclusion of the conference, the participants will be able to:

Objectives:

  • Differentiate and confirm how common orthopedic conditions      present themselves.
  • Determine how to perform the necessary history and exam for the condition.
  • Discuss the appropriate initial management and treatment for the condition.
  • Identify the types of factors that influence a surgeon’s decision on how or when it is best to proceed with surgery.

This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the ACCME® Essential Areas & Elements, & policies of the Iowa Medical Society through the joint sponsorship of Genesis Medical Center & ORA Orthopedics. Genesis Medical Center is accredited by the IMS to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

PHYSICIANS: Genesis Medical Center designates this live activity for a maximum of 3.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

IA NURSING: 3.0 contact hours will be awarded by the Iowa Board of Nursing Provider #59, Genesis Medical Center, Davenport, Iowa.

IL NURSING: May use IA certificate for license renewal. Because this program has been approved by the Iowa Medical Society for CME credit, it may be used for 3.0 contact hours toward only recertification requirements for ANCC continuing education renewal.

IA ALL OTHERS: May be eligible for up to 3.6 contact hours continuing education credit. Consult your governing rules to determine if appropriate subject matter criteria will apply to credit hours.

IL PT/PTA and OT/COTA: 3.6 contact hours by Genesis Medical Center – Silvis Campus, Silvis, IL.
